Welcome to the gay capital of Mexico! It's got water, hills, veg restaurants, nearby adventuring, and unique entertainment.
Em's pro Vallarta rambles... Jet skis, massages, hills and hiking, a warm and perfectly wavey ocean, vegan buffets, live music, dance clubs, fruit trees, the world's best tacos, warm weather, yoga, el lenguaje español, Eitan, surprise shennanigans, farmers market, queer folk and events, art, list making, friends, swimming, fresh jackfruit / passionfruit, and birds that go 'brr'.
Em's Puerto con list... It'll be weeks of relatively few Amish people.
There's a bunch of different zones. The ones most relevant to us.
The hotel zone: closest to the airport. Picture traffic, huge resorts, and not much Mexican culture.
5 Di Decembre: a more residential neighborhood that's close to the beach and hills, lots of restaurants, grocery shopping, and a 10 minute drive to the Romantic Zone. This is where our house is located.
Romantic Zone: bars, some restaurants (but the best veg ones are in 5 di Decembre), entertainment. A nice place to visit each day, but too loud, busy, and expensive to stay in.
Mirador de la Cruz: this is a beautiful lookout point with 200 steps to the top. We did this hike every day last year on a 2 hour roundtrip morning urban hike from the AirBnb (there are faster routes).
